A thaumaturge with mirror and regalia implements is the best marshal, hands down. But it depends on what you want to do as a marshal. Some are backline marshals, and some are frontline.

You reduce the burden on ability scores and class feat tax substantially by either just picking up the Sentinel Dedication for a STR build, or using a DEX build and grabbing the Magus Dedicate + Raise a Tome.
