These bikes tend to be very reliable with proper maintenance. A member here named Hans&Feet has 209K on his. Many others have theirs well into 80K. The 1300 has a low center of gravity making it very easy handling even with the added weight. The fact that it is carbureted does not seem to have any impact on reliability.
