2017 Outback 2.5 with 77.5k miles. Last 10k or so I randomly find my drivers side window doesn’t operate. If I manipulate the window switch a bunch, (maybe with no real effect on the issue) it will eventually work. I replaced the switch cluster thinking it would fix the problem. It did not. I have a 2015 Outback Limited. When I try to close the passenger side window by lifting the power switch, it goes all the way up then bounces back to halfway shut (or open - take your pick). It won't move up again until I move it down after which i can incrementally move it up until it closes.

Outbackroo. Try going into the owners manual, and doing the power window rest thing. Basically you put the turn the key on, open the drivers door, and close it, then open the drivers window half way, then close it. This should reset the power window. The window was stuck in the up position, so I replaced the regulator. Now the window works, but only sort of. When going down, it will go smoothly, but the auto down doesn’t work. When going up, it only goes in 1 inch increments. Help!

Hello. Our 2011 Outback Premium 2.5i driver side front window isn’t going down. My wife did get something caught in it, but it worked after that. The other 3 front door driver’s window switches work. I checked the #3 fuse and it appears to be ok. There was no fuse in the 27 spot. I’m not sure if there was supposed to be. Thanks for any help.

From each window - use its door control to run the window down, then all the way up and hold the switch for an extra second or two. Then the drivers door controls will work for those windows. Ok try a capacitive discharge, make sure the key is off and disconnect both battery cables, then touch both cables together for about 10 seconds. This completely drains all the capacitors in the car and it's just a more effective way disconnecting the battery. Really makes sure everything is reset. 1.

There is a fuse box under the hood on the driver's side (with spare fuses in the lid) and another in the driver's side under dash.
