Not bad, mind you, just underwhelming. They do offer some decent auto-castable psycasts thou, for combat. I also remember liking archon and archotech paths. I believe archotech path had psychic shock ability, which is really good if you really want to take someone a prisoner out of a horde of enemies, without killing them.

VE psycasts does a decent job self balancing, because raiders can have the casts as well. The problem just becomes that the player's casters are more intelligently leveled and utilized so once you reach a certain point, the raids just cannot keep up.
