I got the flashing D while on a road trip in North Dakota. I stopped by a local AutoZone and they were able to pull the code (P1740) for me and it was for a failed 4th gear switch. Not sure why your OBD reader is not picking it up. A Honda dealer in Rushmore South Dakota replaced it for me for about $160. The part alone is about $65

It will do this for a couple of days then go away for weeks . No issues with performance.Probably 3rd or 4th gear pressure switch. The flashiing D resets itself when you shut the vehicle off. A code will have been stored though. Our first flashing D indicator tripped once and then it didn't trip again until 3 months later where it would trip once a day. It was the 3rg gear switch. Like.

When I stopped to buy lunch it wasn't flashing when I came out and then went into work. When I got off work the same thing happened about 25 mins into my drive.
