People who don't want to get accustomed to the fact that it does not hold your hand and is not a linear slog like pretty much 95% of the entries afterwards, have no one but themselves to blame. The most notable and acclaimed Zelda-like inspired directly by OoT is probably Okami, which follows the formula but has wildly different combat. There were more Zelda-esque games that seemed inspired by the early Zelda games back in the day, like Beyond Oasis, Crusader of Centy, and Alundra, but those came out a long time ago.
