Ohms is one thing - voltage is another, but if the charge coil is damaged and shorted to ground, you will get at best a weak spark but most usually no spark. I have replaced the spark plug, voltage rectifier, ignition coil, and stator. Not everything was replaced for this problem. Just the ignition coil. Morning temps close to freezing. Crank no start… every once in a while would catch an idle then die. Did not have a lot of tools in camp so swapped a few relays, charged battery, tried priming with key on a bunch, but nothing. Tested fuel pressure: 12 - 18 psi. Replaced fuel pump: now with key first on 58psi.Remove one of the coils, from the spark plug. Use an extra spark plug. A spark plug tester. Or even a screwdriver, in the end of the coil.
