Since the PTO light is on, it seems likely that the PTO switch is working. Checking the voltage at the PTO, will tell you for sure. If it measures 12V across to two terminals, when the PTO indicator says the PTO is engaged, it means your PTO is not working. That probably means it is time for a new PTO. Like.2,298. Location. Make a one turn adjustment to shorten the clutch linkage, and check to see if the PTO clutch is working. Thereafter, make half turn adjustments and check the PTO clutch. the pto clutch wold slip under a load. So I adjusted it the other way so the. clutch held and shut off the engine to. engage the pto. It lasted for a while and. the pto clutch gave out completely. I think there is a split in your future. 3600 double clutch is the same as your. 3000.Power to the start relay on this tractor comes through the OFF contact on the PTO switch. If the PTO switch is failed or unplugged, you cannot start the tractor. If this switch failed in the ON position, that would explain both the PTO light staying on and not being able to start the tractor. The PTO brake is released when the PTO is engaged, but the brake is set when the PTO is disengaged. You can check for this possibility by prying a 2x4 up against the PTO shaft to see if you can stop it from rotating. It has two settings for the clutch and you can't engage the PTO unless you use adjust the clutch pedal to its highest point. The lower setting is fine for shifting gears but not for the PTO.
