If the problem is the weight, try disassemble the feet, clean everything and reassemble (also you can adjust the sesitivity by screwing more or less the bolt). After posts saying the Litter Robot 4 wasn't safe, with the pinch detectors failing, I investigated and found the circumstances where it could happen.
