Looking for advice on used Rav4. Hello! I’m looking to buy a used Rav4 but don’t really know too much about what to look out for, more reliable years, what to look for in a PPI, etc. My budget is probably up to $17K. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated. I’ve had Toyotas for a long time so I assume this is another great purchase.

2019 should be reliable. Apart from noise/perhaps a jerky transmission, the LE AWD doesn’t have the transfer case issues. Shouldn’t have anything that affects reliability. Resale will be better with the new style, as well as power and fuel economy. Last week, we leased a … The Rav4 is a decent car but it's overpriced by about $5k. It has one thing going for it: it's a Toyota, which means it'll probably last a while. If that's the most important thing to you, buy the Rav4. But other than that, it's a worse value than almost every one of its competitors (particularly the CX-5, CR-V, Tucson, and Rogue). RAV4 mpg combined was around 40. Camry mpg combined is around 48. Road and wind noise on the Camry are much quieter. Comfort on Camry is much higher. I’d rather have a Camry for a road trip. I also enjoy the sporty look with paddle shifters (useless for hybrid) on the SE Camry. Brand new the Camry was $27k+++ and the RAV4 was $32k+++.

It excels in the highway compared to competitors, including the CR-V. Also, more power so feels quicker. For top trim, RAV4 is also better. You get the newer digital cluster and better infotainment screen for 2023. You get some nice extras like ventilated seats, panoramic roof, and 360° cameras, which the CR-V does not get.

The RAV4 interior is a lot more "basic" than the CR-V. It's well done and it looks decent, but it's far from the luxury look of the CR-V. It has more space inside, at least visually speaking, I didn't measure anything. The visibility is much better and the transmission is so, so much better than the Honda. In the end it all boils down to what you really prefer. You want a classy, quiet, luxurious ride and fun to drive vehicle on a budget; get the cx 5. If u prefer back seat space and larger trunk, then get the Rav 4. Get the rav 4 hybrid if u want to save on gas.
