It's not too different from how you build any two-hander. You want a CON of at minimum 14, a STR of 17 or higher. As a Paladin you should get a CHA of 14 or 15. Maybe higher if you want to dump stats but your cha should be good, but not better than your strength. Smite on the big enemies that are obviously evil.
