It's not really easier than just using the physical amiibo though. I've bought a bunch of amiibo for he upcoming switch. I never owned a 3DS or Wii U, so these are my first. I bought all the splatoon amiibo and all of the previously released amiibo that work with BOTW, and I have preordered all the BOTW amiibo. It already takes up too much space.
